UPSTYE Research Council.

A working group of education advisors, school leaders, principals, teachers and industry experts shaping how UPSTYE thinks about the future of Indian K12 learning. The Council exists to keep our research grounded, India-specific, and useful to the people closest to the classroom.

01

Purpose of the Council

The Research Council is UPSTYE’s structured input mechanism from the people who know Indian K12 best. It exists to ensure that what we build, what we research and what we publish reflects the real situation in Indian schools — not what looks good in a deck.

Council members influence our research themes, review our public reports before publication, and surface on-ground signals that would otherwise be invisible from a product team.

02

Who we look for

The Council is intentionally cross-functional. Each cohort includes representation from:

  • School owners and principals from CBSE, ICSE and state-board schools across India.
  • Senior teachers and academic heads with deep classroom experience.
  • EdTech founders, product leaders and India K12 operators.
  • Education researchers, policy experts and NEP 2020 observers.
  • Parent voices — because the parent perspective is too often missed in education research.
03

What members do

Council membership is structured but lightweight. Specific activities:

  • Quarterly virtual or in-person discussion sessions on focused themes.
  • Review of upcoming UPSTYE research reports before public release.
  • Input on UPSTYE’s product roadmap from a school-leadership perspective.
  • Optional contribution of named insights, quotes or short essays to UPSTYE’s journal.
  • Access to early drafts of market insights and industry analysis.
04

How members are recognised

Council membership is honorary but visible.

Members are credited (with consent) on UPSTYE’s Research Council page once published, in research reports they contribute to, and at any public events the Council co-hosts.

UPSTYE does not pay Council members. Members participate because they care about the future of Indian K12 education.

05

Future member onboarding

Council expansion happens in structured cycles — once or twice a year, in cohorts of 8–12 new members. This allows depth of engagement and prevents the Council from becoming an unmanageable list.

Interested educators, school leaders and experts can express interest via info@upstyeeducation.com with subject "Research Council". We respond to every serious enquiry.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Research Council formed yet?+

The Research Council is being structured during 2026. Initial members are being identified through UPSTYE’s school partnerships and personal network. Public Council member listing will follow once the initial cohort is in place.

Does the Council have legal or governance authority over UPSTYE?+

No. The Council is an advisory and research input body. UPSTYE’s legal and operational governance sits with the company’s management and statutory structures.

Is there a cost to joining the Council?+

No. Council membership is honorary and free for members.

How is the Council different from the School Partnership program?+

School Partnerships are operational — they involve product pilots, classroom integration, hands-on collaboration. The Research Council is strategic — it provides high-level perspective on India’s K12 direction. The two complement each other.
